Grip-Seal®
How It Works
The basic principal is a simple one: the inclined plane and wedge are
employed to close two collets so tightly on the outside diameter of the
pipe that acting as one they can compress a seal at the pipe terminals.
Here's how it’s done: pipe cut to length is inserted into the loosely -
assembled Jaeco Grip-Seal Fitting until the pipe ends rest against
the Teflon seal. The union nut is then tightened on the body threads,
sliding the collets forward on the pipe until they meet the Teflon
seal. As the nut is tightened, the shoulder and ring of the fitting
wedge the collets so they grip the pipe.
Continued tightening forces the pipe and collet as one piece into the
Teflon until it compresses and "flows" around the end of the pipe
forming an impenetrable seal on the periphery of the
pipe. The chamfered collets act as wedges between pipe and fitting;
the greater the axial load on the pipe, the tighter the fitting grips.
Advantages of Jaeco Grip-Seal
- Corrosion and Contamination-Proof - no crevices where fluids can
stagnate or reach other parts of the fitting; fluid contacts only the Teflon
seals; in the elbow and tees fluid contacts only Teflon and 316 SS.
- Stress-Free - no cold working; no heat applied...no stress can occur.
- Simple to Use - installation is quick and easily mastered in a matter
of minutes. No special equipment required.
- Hazards Eliminated - no open flames or arcs; welding or brazing
unnecessary making them ideal for explosive environments.
- Full Flow - Jaeco Grip-Seal Fittings have 100% full-flow area.
- Universal - Jaeco Grip-Seal Fittings fit all pipe; even suitable for
plastic and higher alloy pipes.
- Reusable - Jaeco Grip-Seal is the only fitting with all parts reusable
when pipes are dissembled for cleaning or for changing pipe system.
- Permanent - with over forty years experience on tough installations -
no reports of leakage.
- Unbeatable Installation Cost - Jaeco Grip-Seal requires the least
installation time of any fitting on the market; labor costs are only 1/5
to 1/4 of others.
- Wide Range of Applications - Grip-Seal Fittings are excellent for
quick permanent repairs, temporary repairs or prototype systems.
- Connect - Threaded fittings, flanged fittings, butt-welded systems,
tank connections and threaded valves.
Grip-Seal Fittings can join any form of piping faster, more
economically, and with greater assurance of corrosion and
leakage protection than any previous method of joining pipe.
